Ft. Lauderdale Deep Sea Fishing Reports
Ft Lauderdale Offshore Fishing Report- February 2010
Fort
Lauderdale
fishing has been red hot these last 10 days or so of January. While a few of
our earlier cold fronts had little effect on fishing, this last one, our
deepest cold yet, really turned the Sailfish on. Almost every trip saw at
least one Sail, with other trips seeing as many as 10 or 12. The last few
days have also been good for Hammerhead sharks.
Because of this late push, we expect fishing to
continue to be excellent. Sailfish and sharks both will continue to push
through our area in good numbers.

Kingfish have also come back to a more regular bite.
Sometimes tough to find, they have been biting well once located. A few
Bombers (Bonito) have also been mixed in apparently running with some of the
small Blackfin Tuna.
February is also a month where Cobia begin to show on
both the shallow and deep wrecks and reefs. And with Grouper being illegal
to keep, we expect them to bite pretty good as well. Always seems to be the
way, doesn't it? Amberjacks should also be in this forecast, it is their
time as well.
February has much to offer in Fort Lauderdale as far as fishing goes. And
the weather is much better than most places in the north. Even our coldest
days will see folks from Michigan and Minnesota wearing shorts while we
Floridians are dressed for what looks like a blizzard.
We'll keep you up to date with our daily blogs and be
back in March to review.
Thanks for your time
