We continue to have good weather for our deep sea fishing trips here in Ft. Lauderdale. Quite a bit of sun and temperatures peaking just short of 90 degrees out here on the coast. Still seeing the expected scattered showers. We have been spending a lot of time close to shore on our charters. Off the edge so to speak has been a bit erratic and when our charters are simply looking for some action as opposed to a specific species we have chosen the reefs due to the abundance of Bonito and a fair amount of Kings.
With searching for Mahi-Mahi as an option as opposed to a schedule the fish on the reefs ( one mile offshore) have been a good alternative. Still bending the rods on scattered Blackfin Tuna and there are some Wahoo as well. Pictured are Brooke and Dillon with a couple of Kings taken at the edge of the reef. With the kids it is about bending the rod, and King?s of this sized fill the bill nicely, and it?s difficult to explore outside of the edge for too long when rod benders like these are biting so close to shore. We do have an all day charter next up with a drop or two planned for Swordfish. Hopefully we will encounter some of those Mahi-Mahi as well on that trip to the Swordfish area we favor which is about a 16 mile trip once we leave the inlet.
