Mid July fishing charters in Fort Lauderdale

Summer is certainly in full swing now. Lots of sun and thankfully only an occasional rain, or as many call them “sun showers”. Not that we don’t get some dark skies and real rain as many other locales, but we do get some quick moving showers with a shining sun here in south Florida this time of year. Summer also bring many days of noticeably calmer days on the ocean. And some good summertime catches on most days on our fishing charters here in Fort Lauderdale. Trolling along the reef line has been a good choice with good sized Kings continuing to be in our fishing area. Bonito ( False Albacore) are back and giving the good fight they are famous for. And those Bonito continue as we have previously mentioned to have good sized Wahoo taking baits. And the Wahoo fishing should improve as we get deeper into the summer. Good Amberjacks remain on many of the deeper wrecks. Scattered Sailfish along those reef lines and always a chance for a Blackfin Tuna or Mahi-Mahi , mostly off of the edge for them,k but  again the Mahi-Mahi can be elusive. Sharks up way inside at night and 150 to 200 feet is a good place to find them during the daylight hours, and when the current runs they bite well. We have included as always some photos of anglers who have joined us here for a Fort Lauderdale fishing charter aboard Marlin My Darlin.
