Once again it is hard to believe another month is now history as we approach the final weeks of the 2019 summer. It seems as though August is upon us in a quick blink of the eye. Such a short time ago we were looking forward to July, now we are looking forward into August and out the rear view mirror at July.

As you can see in our lead picture some good sized Mahi-Mahi have joined us here aboard the Marlin My Darlin in Ft. Lauderdale. The Mahi are always fun large or small and August should hold some good days for them offshore. Along the edge we continue to see the Kings and those Bonito mixed in. There will be a stampede of Bonito through our are beginning soon this month and it makes for a lot of bent rods. Their cousin the Blackfin Tuna continues to pass by just off the edges of the reef line. Still managing an occasional incidental Sailfish bite as we target other more prevalent summer time species. The Wahoo have backed off but they will be available, and some good ones at that. And the Sharks, they are thick, stealing a hooked fish here and there and biting well when we target them.

So here comes August and we look forward to a mixed bag of species off shore on our Fort Lauderdale fishing charters. Don’t forget to get those kids out fishing whether with us or on your own boat. Summer is flying by. Tight lines, see you on the rip.
