Decent weather and decent fishing for this Ft. Lauderdale fishing report. Fred breezed by below us and shut us down for a single day with just enough wind and rain to cancel a days worth of charters. Pulp Fictions line by Bruce Willis of “Freds dead” was quite well used here after Fred’s passing. “Grace’ who was for several days presented as the second of a one, two punch for us here in Florida is over by the Yucutan and of zero concern regarding our weather. Sooooo, let’s go fishing.
Kingfish along the reef lines as expected for this time of year. Good amounts of summer time Bonito in there with them. They call them :Speed Perch” in Texas. “Albies” in New England. We call them Boneheads. All the same fish, “False Albacore” or “Little Tunny”. Thet like it here mid August off south Florida. Some Blackfin Tunas still in the mix as our last report. Jacks, Snappers, only an occasional Sailfish such as pictured with young Wyatt. Some Wahoo showing. Very nice one in the photos with this report. Some Mahi but erratic. Shark action has slowed but not stopped, and the ones we have seen have been of good size. Enjoy the angler photos. See you on the rip.
