It looks as if the wind has finally backed off and that will make our fishing trips here in Ft. Lauderdale a bit more comfortable as offshore the constant breeze has had the sea conditions on the choppy side. Good amount of sun this morning and hopefully that will hold throughout the day, as there has been some rain here. No snow. Nice to be here in the sun and not fighting that awful weather out west. Well we get the Hurricanes so nobody bats 1000. BUT today is our first day out of Hurricane season and no storms again this year! Ten straight years now (a record) of no storms hitting Florida. I need to be honest, I’ll take the snow (and the ice) over what happens here when we get hit with those tropical systems, but neither is any fun. So we’ll enjoy our day today and hope for good weather again tomorrow, and fishing has been good.

Dorado have been in tight near and up on the reef line and their size has been above average. We haven’t been bottom fishing as the Dorado fishing has been very good. Kingfish have been for the most part available and biting. Some very nice catches for quite awhile now. There are some Sailfish moving through the area in the vicinity of those reefs too and that has been steady with chances at them almost every trip. Some Blackfin Tuna but they are small. Sea conditions have backed off and a bit of current has the ocean down to 2 to 3 feet, slightly below what it was initially forecast for today. Give us a call, we have some open dates.
