Fort Lauderdale fishing report mid May

And here we are barreling into the back half of May already and  this will be our latest deep sea fishing report for Fort Lauderdale. Trying to post one fishing report each week to keep everybody up to date and also to get the photos of recent anglers up within the report. So enjoy the many photos and here we go with the fishing update.

As you can see from the first photo with this report a very, very nice Bull Mahi-Mahi joined us here aboard Marlin My Darlin during a two boat charter for Garth and his clients. Just an awesome fish and catch. Likely will be the largest Mahi- Mahi here with us and actually for the entire fleet this season. By that I mean don’t expect one as exceptional as that one when you join us here but we’ll catch em, and good ones too. Larger tunas now along the outside edges of the reefs, typical for this time of year. That 32# Blackfin Tuna pictured is another super sized fish. Often good numbers of Tunas around but again not as large as that one, but they all add up. Bonito (New England “Albies”) in the mix. Kings around and they will continue to be here most days some Sails but not like the Winter months. Jacks on the wrecks as pictured and some Groupers (good ones too), but this is not really a premier Grouper area. Good sized Sharks frequenting the wrecks as well and tearing up our tackle. You want to have one of them on the end of your line we’re ready to tackle up. Tight lines and good fishing. Always reach me direct @ 954-778-8173 for all reservations and up to the minute accurate availability. See you on the rip, JJ
