Greetings from Marlin My Darlin! As October rolls in, it’s a thrilling time for fishing enthusiasts. The latter half of September has marked the peak of both hurricane and offshore fishing seasons. Although Hurricane Helena caused havoc on the West Coast last week, it also stirred up exceptional mahi-mahi fishing opportunities off our shores. The storm has scattered debris across the waters, creating abundant floating structures where these vibrant fish congregate. If you’re aiming to reel in some mahi-mahi, now is the perfect time to join us on the water. Despite Helena’s impact, the fishing over recent weeks has been exceptional. Offshore, mahi-mahi are joined by occasional wahoo sightings, with many fish gathering around floating debris and current rips. Meanwhile, the reef has been bustling with activity. From 70 to 200 feet of water, you’ll find big sharks, bonitas, king mackerel, snapper, grouper, and amberjack. Trolling along the reef has been consistently rewarding. Our bottom fishing adventures have yielded outstanding results, with a notable abundance of large mutton, yellowtail, vermilion, and yelloweye snapper. The wrecks are teeming with fish, and larger amberjacks have been making their presence known. October heralds the arrival of the mullet run, a spectacular migration down our coast. It’s one of the best times of the year for inshore fishing, as tarpon, snook, jack crevalle, and sharks follow the schools. These mullet movements can also attract sailfish and mahi-mahi offshore, providing diverse opportunities for anglers. Kite fishing, although currently slow due to calm winds, is poised to pick up speed later in the fall. From November through May, we look forward to an exciting kite fishing season. Join us at *Marlin My Darlin* for an unforgettable fishing experience. Whether you’re targeting mahi-mahi, exploring the reef, or chasing the exhilarating mullet run, our charter is ready to make your fishing dreams come true.
