Welcome to this week’s Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report from the deck of the Marlin My Darlin, where we operate our 46′ and 53′ charter boats. Lately, the waters have been teeming with action, especially for those eager to reel in some mahi-mahi. As storm season hits its stride, the currents are bringing in significant debris and floating objects that naturally draw in large schools of mahi-mahi, as well as wahoo, blue marlin, and Almaco jacks.

The months of September and October are prime time for anglers looking to fill their coolers with these vibrant fish. Trolling along the reef continues to yield great catches, including Bonitas, king mackerel, sailfish, and even a few wahoo. Additionally, wreck fishing has been rewarding with plenty of vermilion, yelloweye, blackfin, and mutton snappers populating the bottom spots. We’ve also spotted a few black groupers around.

While shark fishing has tapered off as the summer ends, this is typical for the season. As we eagerly anticipate the Sailfish season and the mullet run, we’re optimistic about what lies ahead. With the weather being absolutely splendid over the past couple of weeks, now is an excellent time to join us for an adventure on the water.
