Welcome to this week’s Fort Lauderdale Charter Fishing report! As we dive into April, the fishing conditions have been nothing short of spectacular. March and April have truly set the stage for an unforgettable fishing experience in Fort Lauderdale. Despite some choppy weather over the past couple of weeks, we’ve witnessed an influx of exciting species including Great White Sharks, Mako Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, and an abundance of magnificent Sailfish. Spring is officially here, making it the perfect time to get out on the water!
Active Kite Fishing
Kite fishing has been exceptionally fruitful recently. Anglers are enjoying numerous Sailfish bites, along with several massive Hammerheads. This technique has also yielded plenty of Mahi-Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Kingfish, and Wahoo. With such a variety of catches, kite fishing remains one of our preferred methods during the spring months. We highly recommend giving it a try!
Trolling Success
Trolling has had its ups and downs lately. While the choppy weather hasn’t made for the most comfortable conditions, it has still produced some great catches. Our team has landed several nice Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Kingfish, Bonito, and impressive Sailfish in the past few days. Please be prepared for a bumpy ride, as this is not the most ideal way to fish at this time of year.
Bottom Fishing Updates
Bottom fishing has been delivering good results overall. Many of the local shipwrecks are holding larger Amberjacks and smaller Snapper. With spring bringing increased currents from the Gulf Stream, bottom fishing can be challenging some days. However, when the conditions are right, the fishing has been phenomenal. This technique continues to be a great option for anglers this spring.
Thrilling Shark Fishing
Shark fishing has been exciting, with several Great Whites spotted in the area over the last couple of weeks. We’ve also seen impressive catches of Hammerhead, Tiger, Bull, Lemon, and Reef Sharks. Spring through early summer is undoubtedly the prime time for shark fishing, providing one of the best opportunities of the year for thrill-seekers looking to catch these magnificent creatures.
