Bright sunny skies and the temperature is decidedly cooler on our deep sea fishing charters in Fort Lauderdale. Wednesday morning we came in @ 49 degrees, our coolest day this winter season by far. Warmed up a bit now as that was a little chilly with the wind as with all these fronts that have the horsepower to push successfully through the state bring it pretty good out of the north and this one was no exception. Pretty good fishing on our Fort Lauderdale fishing trips and here’s our latest fishing update.
Some Sailfish and Wahoo are in our area and this latest frontal system should only increase the chances for opportunities at these fine species. Trolling remains a good choice for the most action as there are Kingfish and Blackfin Tunas in the mix and biting on most charters. Same as the last report for those two species. Kings on or just off the reefs and the Tuna only slightly deeper. Skipjack Tuna in with the Blackfins. Everything taking place within a couple of miles of shore, often much less.
Mahi-Mahi always a chance but lately very scattered at best, or as we like to say “well distributed”. So they are a maybe, not a certainty.
We will be leaning a bit more in the direction of live bait with this frontal system and expecting a few more Sailfish opportunities along the edges of Sailfish Alley, just over a mile off the beach, as we move into early December.
